Monday, Feb. 8:
LG: Students will “calibrate” their synthesis essay skills by reading and grading several anchor papers from The College Board.
LG: CBAPELC C2--The course requires students to write essays that proceed through several stages or drafts, with revision aided by teacher and peers. LG: Students will consider the importance of that first impression, that first sentence, in writing.
Wednesday, Feb. 10:
LG: Students will participate in a Fish Bowl debate. CBAPELC C4--The course requires expository, analytical, and argumentative writing assignments that are based on readings representing a wide variety of prose styles and genres.
Thursday, Feb. 11:
CBAPELC C5--The course requires nonfiction readings (e.g., essays, journalism, political writing, science writing, nature writing, autobiographies/ biographies, diaries, history, criticism) that are selected to give students opportunities to identify and explain an author’s use of rhetorical strategies and techniques.
CBAPELC C4--The course requires expository, analytical, and argumentative writing assignments that are based on readings representing a wide variety of prose styles and genres.
