We will be going outside to experience the solar eclipse Monday, August 21 during 4th period. All of the students in my class have returned their permission slips to view the eclipse event; however, if you plan to check out, you must do so before 1:30 p.m.
I have purchased eclipse glasses that meet the ISO 12312-2 transmission requirements that your child is welcome to use on the day of the eclipse. If you would like your child to use a pair of glasses that you have purchased and provided, please note that you will need to send those materials to school with your student on Monday. The glasses that I have purchased are made by Explore Scientific LLC and can be found on the approved list of reputable vendors at this link: https://eclipse.aas.org/resources/solar-filters
The glasses are the "Sun Catcher" model. The website to research the glasses manufacturer is www.exploreone.com
My priority is your student's safety as we experience this event . Please reiterate with your child that glasses are to be worn at all times during the eclipse event and review the safe viewing document that I sent home last week.
